Pick your platform and list size. We assume 8 sends a month and compare list prices, including our retainer. If switching doesn't pay, we'll say so.
List-price estimates. HubSpot uses the $890 Professional base with 2,000 contacts plus about $50 per additional 1,000, before its $3,000 onboarding fee. Marketo figures are estimates, since Adobe publishes no prices. ActiveCampaign above 50,000 contacts is quote-only. Amazon SES at $0.10 per 1,000 emails. Your contract may differ, which is what the free estimate is for.
Send us your contact count, send volume and current plan. You get a one-page comparison of what you pay now against Mautic plus SES. No call required.
We set up Mautic and Amazon SES on your own accounts, warm up sending, move your contacts and segments, rebuild your templates, forms and core campaigns, and connect your CRM.
Hosting, updates, monitoring, bounce and complaint handling, list hygiene and small changes. You send email. We keep it landing in the inbox.
Deliverability is the hard part. It is also the part most hosting providers leave to you.
A one-page comparison of your current bill against Mautic and SES, based on your list and send volume.
One fixed price, quoted up front. Lists of 75,000 and up take more warm-up and segmentation, and sit at the top of the range.
Monitoring, updates, deliverability and list hygiene, plus 4 hours of changes a month. Extra hours $150, only with your OK. $1,000 with 6 hours for lists over 75,000. 12-month minimum.
We build and send your campaigns every month, so your team can stop wrestling the editor.
Uptime and deliverability monitoring, Mautic and server updates, bounce and complaint handling, Amazon SES reputation management, and fixing anything that breaks on our side. You should never think twice before telling us something looks wrong.
New forms, template edits, segment and workflow changes, CRM field updates and custom reports. Hours don't roll over. Anything bigger than about 8 hours gets its own fixed quote instead.
Mautic and SES run on your own AWS account wherever possible. Your data and your sending reputation never belong to us.
Hosting and sending are billed to you directly at what they actually cost. No markup hiding inside a bundle.
Every client runs on a separate, documented Mautic instance. No shared servers, no neighbors hurting your reputation, and it's all open source.
In April 2026, D2 Emerge, publisher of SD Times and ITOps Times, moved its email program off ActiveCampaign onto self-hosted Mautic and Amazon SES. The bill fell from $1,600 a month to about $250, and sending grew from a 900,000-email monthly cap to about 1.5 million.
ActiveCampaign kept raising its rates, and the cap meant mailing only part of the list. The data and the sending reputation lived in someone else's account. Now they sit in D2 Emerge's own.
Full disclosure: D2 Emerge is owned by Longtrail's founder, Dave Lyman, who built this setup for his own company before offering it to anyone else. Every client migration starts from the same configuration.

Two systems we built and run for D2 Emerge, the publisher of SD Times and ITOps Times, owned by Longtrail's founder. Both work alongside the software it already paid for.
Six months of cold email drew no human replies. The pitch wasn't the problem: the mail wasn't reaching inboxes. We moved sales email to a proper sending domain with full authentication, then built a Sales Cockpit to work the target accounts.
SD Times' editors were losing hours to sorting PR pitches and packaging stories. Two tools now do that work, and the time goes back into more stories, interviews and podcasts.
Tell us a little about your list. You'll get a one-page estimate back, with your numbers, not a sales pitch. If switching doesn't make sense, the estimate will say so.
